Every child is an individual who grows and develops at his or her own rate. We are dedicated to make each child's Kindergarten Year a successful one. To insure the success of all of our students, we provide both a challenging academic program and a caring, safe environment. We recognize the unique personalities and special talents of all our students.
Our Reading/Language Arts series is published by Houghton Mifflin. It focuses on subjects such as beginning sounds, letter recognition, comprehension, vocabulary, sight words, and handwriting.
Our MacMillan/McGraw-Hill Math series is a standards based program that concentrates on sorting, shapes, numbers, reasoning, estimating, time, addition, subtraction, and other topics. We utilize both "hands-on" math manipulatives and workbooks to enhance each child's learning.
The Science and Health curriculum includes the Ecosystem, Plants, Five Senses, Animals, and so many more.
Kindergarten field trips may include trips to the Youth Science Institute at Alum Rock Park, Discovery Museum, or Happy Hollow. We also invite guests to visit our classrooms such as dentists, police officers, fire fighters, nurses, and the Alum Rock Park rangers and their animals.
We hope that giving the children both a strong academic program and providing a safe and loving place to learn will enable them to become productive lifelong learners and community members.
